The P Lightning was created in response to a specification from the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC). Among a number of other requirements, the specification called for an interceptor aircraft with a speed not less than mph at 20, ft. I was supprised that it listed performance data that is higher than all the general reference books. its a small book (57 pgs.) and old by my standards, but well written and interesting.
